WhatsApp is currently working on a new feature that will allow users to move their chat history across Android and iOS devices.

WhatsApp has a handy feature that allows you to back up your chat logs online, but you can’t view or move the data across iOS and Android. But it seems that will change soon. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a cross-platform chat migration. The feature is not yet accessible to users on the beta platform.

There is no deadline for when this feature will be rolled out. But according to the report, WhatsApp users who have the most recent WhatsApp update from the App Store or TestFlight will see some change.

WABetaInfo shared a screenshot that shows chat migration feature on iOS

The main issue with allowing the feature, according to WhatsApp, is a “difference in data formats”.When Android user backs up the data, it is saved on Google Drive, while Apple users data saved on iCloud.WhatsApp is trying to solve this problem and in the near future, this new feature will be available.

WhatsApp recently has released “WhatsApp support Chat Threads” for select WhatsApp beta users. This feature will be rolled out for all users late this year.
