Via an in-app update in January 2021, WhatsApp told users of updates to its terms of service and public policy. Users were initially given until February 8 to agree to the new terms or stop using the platform. Moreover, user outrage pressured WhatsApp to push back the February deadline to May 15.
WhatsApp spokesperson said that.“No accounts will be deleted on May 15 because of this update and no one in India will lose the functionality of WhatsApp either. We will follow up with reminders to people over the next several weeks.”
