According to Mashable, Instagram Live users would be able to disable video chats, a function close to the common audio-based app Clubhouse.
Instagram is not the first to follow in Clubhouse’s audio-forward footsteps. Clubhouse, an audio-based social media platform that enables users to join and leave chats on a range of subjects. It’s similar to listening to a live podcast recording.
Instagram introduced Live Rooms in March, enabling users to chat with three people at once in a Live session.

In the meantime, Facebook, which owns Instagram, is developing a live audio feature for its Messenger Rooms. Reddit is also rumoured to be looking into a similar voice chat feature.
