While the OnePlus Watch is yet to be launched, the upcoming smartwatch is now available for pre-orders in China. Meanwhile, the OnePlus watch render has been leaked online.
The latest news comes just days before the OnePlus virtual launch, at which the OnePlus Watch will be unveiled alongside the OnePlus 9-series smartphones.
Along with the pre-orders, a render allegedly showing the OnePlus Watch has appeared on Twitter, hinting at the smartwatch’s design. The OnePlus Watch is said to have an IP68-certified specification as well as Warp Charge fast charging technology.
JD.com, a Chinese online retailer, has listed the OnePlus Watch for pre-order in the region. Customers must pay a deposit of CNY 50 (approximately Rs. 600) to reserve the smartwatch, according to the listing.
Customers who pre-order the OnePlus Watch will earn a CNY 100 (approximately Rs. 1,100) discount on their final purchase. The actual cost of the smartwatch has yet to be revealed.
According to the JD.com page, the OnePlus Watch will have Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. Further details are yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, Unbox Therapy tweeted a rendering of the OnePlus Watch. The render shows a circular shaped watch with a patterned strap. Two actual buttons on the right are seen. one button has the OnePlus branding on it.
The design of the OnePlus Watch looks to be very similar to the Oppo Watch RX. It is worth remembering that both OnePlus and Oppo are owned by the same parent company, BBK Electronics and that their hardware R&D operations were recently said to have been combined.
The OnePlus Watch was supposed to run on Google’s Wear OS. OnePlus co-founder and CEO Pete Lau, on the other hand, recently announced that it would provide a custom operating system to provide a better experience than Wear OS.
OnePlus Watch expected features
According to previous news, the OnePlus Watch will have a 46mm dial size and come in Black and Silver colour options. It will have heart rate and SpO2 sensors.
It could include fitness-tracking features as well as a dedicated swimming mode. The OnePlus Watch is also said to have 4GB of internal storage, Warp Charging and as well as an IP68-certified design.
