The recently launched OnePlus Watch is missing The Always-on Display feature. But OnePlus Watch may soon get an Always-on Display(AOD) feature with an OTA (over-the-air) update.
The OnePlus Watch was released on March 23 along with the OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9R in India. On the OnePlus India website, the smartwatch is currently listed at an introductory price of Rs. 14,999.
However OnePlus Watch still not available for purchase in India. Buyers will use the ‘Notify me’ button to be alerted when the smartwatch goes on sale.
The AOD feature was requested by several users. OnePlus said in a blog post that We are currently looking at stuff like how it impacts power usage and are exploring the possibility of bringing Always-on Display(AOD) in a future OTA.
OnePlus also said that, while AOD is a much-requested feature, it may increase battery consumption by up to 50 per cent.OnePlus also mentioned that they focused on improving the display architecture and increased the frame rate from 30fps to 50fps.

The smartwatch comes with a host of features, including seamless connectivity with other smartphones and the OnePlus TV. The watch features a circular display with 2.5D curved glass protection.
It can also double as the remote control for the OnePlus TV and automatically detect if you’ve fallen asleep and turn off the TV in 30 minutes.
