OnePlus could soon launch its mobile payment service “OnePlus Pay” in India.OnePlus reportedly has filed for a trademark in India. A tipster has posted a screenshot of the company’s trademark filing in India on Twitter.

Mukul Sharma tweeted the trademark filing for “OnePlus Pay”.The trademark was filed by OnePlus on March 30 and approved by the Registrar of Trademarks, according to the tweet.

To compete with Apple, Google, and Samsung payment systems, “OnePlus Pay” could offer a mobile wallet as well as NFC-supported payments. and no further information has been released.

OnePlus Pay” was first revealed in 2019 and then introduced in China a year later. However, OnePlus has not said anything about The launch of its mobile payment service in India. If the trademark filing posted by a tipster is right, “OnePlus Pay” is supposed to debut in India this year.

OnePlus Pay will enter a long list of mobile payment services including Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe, Amazon Pay and many more in India.

OnePlus Pay was introduced in March 2020 and is currently only available in China. Before launching the payments service on HydrogenOS, the China-specific variant of OxygenOS, the company tested it for more than six months.

When this service available, OnePlus users will need to set the app as their default NFC-based payments app. Once the user fills in bank details, the service will be activated.
