Apple has released iOS 15 at its WWDC 2021 event. One of the new features of iOS 15 will be the expansion of the Find My service. According to Apple, iPhone owners will soon be able to locate their lost devices even after they have switched off, and in some circumstances even after a factory reset.
iOS 15 is designed in such a way that even after a power interruption, the device remains in a low power state, similar to how computers sleep. As a result, even an inactive iPhone functions as an NFC AirTag, allowing any nearby iOS device to recognise itself.
According to Apple, the innovation will assist users who have misplaced even a switch off the phone in locating it before the battery is entirely depleted, saving several hours. Furthermore, even when a factory reset and activation lock is enabled, the Locator app can still display the device’s location.
After installing iOS 15, users will be notified about the new function. According to the American corporation, such a technique will greatly assist buyers in their hunt for stolen or misplaced devices.
