Mercedes unveils 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen for its electric sedan EQS: The German automaker Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a giant 56-inch OLED touchscreen, which can be found in the next luxury electric sedan EQS.
Named MBUX Hyperscreen, the screen will act as an infotainment system on the dashboard. Mercedes says that the automotive experience will now be fully digital with MBUX Hyperscreen.
In 2019, The details of Mercedes-Benz’s fully electric luxury sedan, the EQS were leaked. the EQS will be launched in 2021 to compete with the Tesla Model S and the Porsche Taycan in the high-end electric vehicle segment.
The classic dashboard replaced by a giant OLED screen
The MBUX Hyperscreen is made up of a multitude of screens to create a giant 56-inch screen. This would be protected by corning Gorilla Glass.
The MBUX Hyperscreen will be powered by an 8-core processor, 24 GB RAM. Mercedes will use system profiles (up to 7) so that each user can save their own settings.
The driver will not need to scroll through the various submenus or even use voice commands, as the most important applications will always be displayed in a situational and contextual manner.
“ The Hyperscreen MBUX is both the brain and the nervous system of the car”. Said a Mercedes board member.
He adds that “ The Hyperscreen MBUX continually gets to know the customer better and delivers a personalized infotainment and operation offering even before the occupant has to click or scroll through the pages “.

The front passenger will also be entitled to their own screen. This will turn off or display a starry sky when the driver is alone in the car.
The Hyperscreen won’t appear in a production car until the end of 2021 of the EQS. However, the new MBUX version will debut in the new S-Class, which was launched last year.
