luxury sports cars company Aston Martin has released a limited edition DB5 sports car, familiar to fans of the James Bond saga from the movie Goldfinger. The price of this car is 36 lakh dollars ( around Rs.26.64 crore).
The first batch of replicas of the legendary car has already rolled off the assembly line. The manufacturer has demonstrated its unusual design and “spy” capabilities in the official video.
Replicas use original body panels and a 290 horsepower 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine. The cars are equipped with dummy machine guns built into the headlights, systems for creating a smoke screen and spraying oil on the road, rotating license plate and a rear bulletproof flap.
The cars have such “spy” elements as a radar display, a telephone and a special secret compartment under the driver’s seat for storing weapons.
The main difference between the car and the movie version was the absence of a proprietary weapon- the company excluded its installation for safety reasons.
The Aston Martin DB5 was developed by Chris Corbould, who has been responsible for special effects in James Bond films since the early 1980s. A limited-edition of 25 units is assembled at the Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell.
It is noteworthy that driving this car on public roads is prohibited due to the status of a collection vehicle.
The Aston Martin DB5 Continuation is priced at 2.75 million pounds sterling, or $ 3.68 million excluding taxes. According to media reports, the entire batch has already been sold out.
