On Instagram, you can enable two-factor authentication to make your account more secure and avoid unpleasant surprises. So here is How to enable two-factor authentication on Instagram?
On Instagram is not enabled by default but it is strongly recommended that you enable it yourself. So even if someone gets your Instagram account password, they won’t be able to access it without having access to your phone or authenticator app depending on what you have chosen.
To enable two-factor authentication Click on the horizontal menu in the upper right corner when you are on your profile. Then select “Settings” at the bottom, then “Security” and finally “Two-factor authentication”.
Instagram explains to you that: “two-factor authentication protects your account by asking for an additional code when you log in on a device that we do not recognize “.
On Instagram, you can choose to receive your security codes through an authenticator application such as Google Authenticator or Duo Mobile. If you want to use an authenticator app, you just need to download it from the App Store or Play Store.
Then launch it and select Instagram from the list of accounts. Whenever Instagram asks you for a security code, you can find it directly in this application.
Finally, if you prefer to receive your security code by SMS instead of going through an authenticator application, all you have to do is select the second option offered by Instagram and enter your phone number to activate it.
