Clubhouse Android app is now available in public beta in the United States. The long-awaited Android launch is expected to attract more new users worldwide.
Currently, the app is available only on the iOS platform by invitation only. The Android edition of the Live Audio app will be first available in other English-speaking countries. It will be expanded to the rest of the world in the coming days.
The clubhouse would have also in hurry to launch the Android version as its popularity is being declined. According to Sensor Tower, After reaching a high of 9.6 million downloads in February, the figure dropped to 2.7 million in March but then 900,000 in April.
The decline has raised concerns about its long-term longevity, as well as whether its popularity can be attributed in part to people spending more time at home during the pandemic.
Clubhouse’s success skyrocketed earlier this year after billionaire Elon Musk and others participated in audio chats. Clubhouse’s Android launch particularly at a time when Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn, Spotify have either launched or announced plans to launch similar offerings.
