A Big scam is found in the name of the WhatsApp Pink app.WhatsApp Pink app is a malicious app that, once installed, can steal your data and enable hackers to gain access to your phone.
Some users have received a message containing a link that claims to provide WhatsApp in pink colour with many new features. When someone opens the link, a new page opens from where the malicious WhatsApp Pink app can be downloaded.
This pink app has nothing to do with either WhatsApp or Facebook. Rajshekhar Rajaharia, a cybersecurity researcher, sent out a tweet to alert people to the spread of WhatsApp Pink.
Beware of @WhatsApp Pink!! A Virus is being spread in #WhatsApp groups with an APK download link. Don't click any link with the name of WhatsApp Pink. Complete access to your phone will be lost. He’s also included a few screenshots demonstrating how the malicious app replicates WhatsApp’s interface in order to deceive users.
The malicious people who spread the WhatsApp Pink message seem to have used various links. Users are advised not to open any such links that claim to offer WhatsApp a new look or features.
It is not the first time a fake version of WhatsApp has been published. In the past, users have been targeted by a WhatsApp Gold version which was also created to maliciously collect user data by some hackers.
