Bang & Olufsen has launched a smart speaker Beosound Emerge which looks like a book. The Beosound Emerge is an ultra-slim speaker that can be left out in the open or tucked away without affecting the sound quality it provides.
The Danish company known for audio products recognised that some people prefer a high-quality sound experience at home but do not want a large, noticeable speaker in the space.
As a result, the company’s new smart speaker is built to resemble a book. It was created with the assistance of Benjamin Hubert of design firm Layer and was inspired by a book.
The speaker measuring 25.5×16.6×6.7cm and weighing 1.3kg. It has a 4-inch woofer (60W), a 1.45-inch midrange driver (30W), and a 0.6-inch tweeter (30W). A microphone is also included, allowing users to connect with Google Assistant.
For multiroom capabilities, Apple AirPlay 2 and Chromecast can be used, and multiple Beosound Emerge speakers can be linked together. B&O also recommends combining the Emerge with the Beoplay A9 or Beosound Balance.
The Beosound Emerge will be available in two finishes: Gold Tone and Black Anthracite. The smart speaker is priced at 799 euros (around Rs.71,543). The Emerge is expected to be available worldwide by the fall.
“The vision for Beosound Emerge was to create the slimmest speaker possible that could still deliver full range, ultra-wide sound despite its size through its revolutionary driver configuration.
Whether placed on a bookshelf in the bedroom or a tight corner of the kitchen, Beosound Emerge’s slim design allows you to extend your music to a new room or complement an existing speaker in the same area without taking up extra space,” says Bang & Olufsen.
